Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., ripped into President Donald Trump in the aftermath of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Roll Call is reporting.

"He's a tough guy when it comes to presenting a budget that cuts nutrition programs for low-income pregnant women — really tough guy," Sanders said Thursday evening. "But, ain't so tough taking on the dictator of Saudi Arabia who has his dissidents murdered in cold blood."

His remarks came at a campaign rally for Democratic candidates in Nevada. Earlier in the day, Saudi Arabia's prosecutor was said to have determined Khashoggi's murder at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul was premeditated.

Sanders also attacked the president for his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Roll Call.

"You know that we have a president who claims to be a very tough guy because he is prepared to tear little babies from their arms at the southern border," he said. "But he ain't so tough when it comes to taking on Vladimir Putin."
