Clinton to Testify Before Benghazi Committee in October

Hillary Clinton will testify before the special House committee investigating the 2012 Benghazi attacks on Oct. 22, the committee said Wednesday.

David Kendall, Clinton's attorney, confirmed the date late Wednesday, said spokesman Jamal Ware.

The hearing will be public. The panel is chaired by Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina.

"Members of the committee will question the former secretary about Libya, Benghazi and her email arrangement consistent with the scope and jurisdiction of the committee laid out in the House resolution," Ware said in a statement.

The committee is investigating actions taken by Clinton, a 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, after the Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens and two former Navy SEALs.
