Polls: Romney, Santorum in Dead Heat in Mich., Leads in Ariz.

Mitt Romney got some good news Tuesday from the polls, a week before primary elections in Michigan and Arizona.

Romney is ahead of Rick Santorum, 37 percent to 27 percent, among likely GOP voters in Arizona's primary, according to a poll by We Ask America in Arizona, USA Today reports. Newt Gingrich has 15 percent support, and Ron Paul has  8 percent.

Romney has moved into a dead heat with former Pennsylvania Sen. Santorum in Michigan, USA Today reports. The poll by Mitchell Research and Rosetta Stone has Romney with 32 percent support, just ahead of  Santorum's 30 percent, which is within the poll's margin of error.

"The campaign in Michigan remains extremely close," John Garst, president of Rosetta Stone Communications in Atlanta, told USA Today, but recent polls show "there has been a fundamental momentum shift back to Romney."

Meanwhile, in Georgia, a new Insider Advantage poll shows a tight race for that state's Super Tuesday primary. Former House Speaker Gingrich, who represented a Georgia district for years, leads with about 26 percent of the vote, followed by Romney at 24 percent, Santorum at 23 percent, and Paul at 12 percent, USA Today reported.
