Texas Gov. Rick Perry will be testing the 2016 presidential waters with a trip to New Hampshire just days after the midterm elections,
The Washington Examiner reported.
The visit to the state with the first-in-the-nation primary is seen as the kickoff of Perry's effort to capture the Republican presidential nomination and as the opening of the race for the White House in the state, according to the
NH Journal.
Perry's political action committee donated over $60,000 to local Republican committees and candidates, helping to lay the groundwork for his campaign, the Journal reported.
The Texan will be in New Hampshire for six scheduled events on Sunday, Nov. 9, and Monday, Nov. 10, the Journal reported. His plans to visit the state in October were derailed because of the Ebola crisis in Texas. He was last in the Granite State in August.
If Perry decides to run it would be his second try at the nomination. His
2012 campaign fizzled after a poor performance during a 2011 candidates' debate.
