Just how many times have we heard, coming from the Left, more often than not, that the country has become very polarized and balkanized around political and other differences.
Well, there’s news for those who are so naive as to think that the country is becoming polarized, only recently. Truth be faced and admitted, the country has always been polarized around diametrically opposed social ideologies and politics. After all, the War Between the States, a.k.a. the Civil War, was not last year.
As I sit here watching and listening to New York Governor Cuomo’s news conference on this December 29, 2019, which is a reaction to the recent accounts of anti-Semitic attacks, I am compelled to respond.
While Cuomo stands before the cameras disparaging the rise in divisive and hate-based attacks, and while he lauds the sociopolitical diversity that has always been core to the country’s very existence, and while he denounces any and all defiant acts against our national diversity, he nullifies all the good in his remarks by wrapping them in blaming the Trump Administration, if not Trump personally.
No, he did not use those exact words; however, when current political invectives, such as immigrant status and other partisan-charged issues, are mentioned as examples of how the country has become polarized around hate against the backdrop, the purpose is to do what so many on the Left have done for the past four years: blame Trump.
Cuomo’s vile and monstrously mendacious objective is to pile on with more accusations that Donald Trump is the root of all evil, ever since before 2016.
For some, no situation is out of bounds for pushing a political agenda, such as this morning’s news conference held by the autocratic Cuomo. From within his pretense of leadership, Cuomo turns the occasion on its somber ear, while surrounded by members of New York’s Jewish Community, and invokes politics in his remarks, doing all but saying the name of Donald Trump.
Again, this country has always been polarized around political differences. What makes our current reality appear to be more embittered and without pause is the fact that the Left has finally met its recalcitrant, driven, and unyielding match.
For decades, though, Leftist ideologues have dominated the tone and tenor of the political dialogue with their relentless, uncompromising, and dogmatic villianization of sentiments on the Right and never having had to confront the slightest opposing push-back. However, with the 2016 Trump win came a shift in the Republican will to fight — and win.
No longer are Leftist attacks allowed to go unbridled across the public sphere. With similar vehemence to that exhibited by the Left, Conservatives don’t just show up, anymore. Now they come dressed to play and wearing a game face never before seen by the Left.
Until Trump, America suffered the silence of one hand clapping on the Left; now, we hear the deafening roar of Liberty.
