Appearing on CNBC's "The Kudlow Report," author and Newsmax contributing editor Kenneth R. Timmerman flatly stated that the Iranians "played us masterfully" during talks in Switzerland.
"These talks were a big win for the Iranians," he told Larry Kudlow. "First of all, they managed to do something very important — they changed the subject. Instead of talking about their continued defiance of the U.N. Security Council — the U.N. Security Council has demanded that they stop uranium enrichment — they now talk about something else. They changed the subject, and we bought into that.
"They have played us masterfully here in Geneva," said Timmerman, author of "Countdown to Crisis: the Coming Nuclear Showdown with Iran." "They've also bought more time, and that's very important as they develop nuclear weapons secretly."
Talks between Iran and six world powers to discuss Iran's nuclear program began Thursday in Geneva.
