Democrats, Media Complicit In COVID Mandates

In the past month, President Joe Biden has caught a great deal of criticism from those on the Right for signing an executive order mandating vaccines at the federal level and for businesses with over 100 employees.

Many conservatives oppose the measure — and rightly so.

Executive orders forcing employers and their employees to make private medical decisions predicated on what the federal government wants and demands is nothing short of authoritarianism.

However, the blame for such policies should be evenly distributed among Democrats and the liberal media, and not just placed at the doorstep of our current president.

In congressional committees, Reps. Thomas Massie, R-Calif., and Tom McClintock, R-Calif., proposed amendments to the Budget for the Fiscal Year 2022 which would be dedicated to disabling the enforcement of COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Rep. Massie offered an amendment in the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure that would lift funding dedicated to enforcing vaccine mandates on federal grounds, the military, and private and public transportation.

Similarly, Rep. McClintock proposed an amendment prohibiting discrimination based upon private citizens’ noncompliance with President Biden’s executive order.

Unsurprisingly, the amendments failed along party lines.

Not one Democrat in either of the committees budged, to think about how private citizens would have to bend the knee to federal government demands.

This sets a sad precedent.

During the past four years, the Left has done hardly anything except to label President Donald Trump and any other  Republican daring to support his agenda as fascists, authoritarians, and totalitarians.

Yet, when an amendment is offered combating the very core of federal power, by two of the most consistent liberty-warriors in Congress, Democrats fail again to stand up for their constituents against a fascist policy implemented by the current commander-in-chief.

The tragedy of these amendments failing is not so much that Democrats killed them on Capitol Hill, it's also the concurrent lack of media coverage of just how many Republicans are attempting to fight back against Biden.

The silence is deafening.

If a constituent even wanted to find out how these amendments got voted on, they would have to conduct extensive research, rather than readily locating an article, tweet, or news coverage based upon the amendments offered.

Seemingly, the mainstream media and Democrats wish to remain blameless regarding their complicity in privacy violations Biden intends to impose on Americans.

Rather, American media would prefer to cover gossip about what's going on outside the halls of Congress, as if it's TV drama, and not cover what's taking place in congressional committees.

Unfortunately, the lack of attention by both media and those on the Left means Americans rarely get to see the people’s house actually at work.

Both Reps. Massie's and McClintock’s constituents would likely have loved to see coverage of their congressional representatives fighting against authoritarian measures.

News coverage seems more predisposed these days to cover Joe Biden's favorite ice cream.
