The Right Finally Fights Corporatist Control

One of the most significant shifts of political interest seen in the past decade is conservative opposition to corporate control of many aspects of the economy, free speech, and the national conversation.

Republicans have always seemed to be defenders of large corporations because of the vast amounts of benefits that they give back to the United States economy through jobs and investments. This is why larger companies, like Disney, have been awarded special accommodations such as a literal autonomous region in the state of Florida.

However, the shift seen within the GOP is a shift towards opposing those large companies who march in step with the Democratic Party — and their supporters.

While the mainstream media has always been viewed as left-leaning, the true testament to just how biased they could be did not become a bona fide talking point in American politics; that is, until 2016.

The ultimate reveal of just how much the media hated conservative viewpoints became truly evident in the reaction to former President Donald Trump's candidacy for the GOP's nomination.

The coordinated effort of media corporations: CNN; social media entities like Twitter and Facebook became a central talking point during Trump's candidacy, and during his subsequent tenure in the Oval Office, from 2017 to 2021.

Twitter banning President Trump in 2021, silencing conservative politicians like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and the New York Post's suspension of their account due to the Hunter Biden laptop controversy are prime examples of conservative silencing by corporations. The richest man globally, and hardcore free speech activist, Elon Musk has bought Twitter.

Guaranteed, leftists again freak out, especially at the thought of a man they disagree with.

The fact that Musk's investment advocates for the return of the platform to its original goal terrifies those on the left. However, left's fear is not always shared.

Musk has become not only the richest man globally, but one of the most influential and most imaginative investors in human history. Musk knows what he does not know, which has proven to be one of the most successful business strategies in his hiring of employees, and when commitment to constant improvement is a top priority

Think Tesla and SpaceX.

Additionally, one can assume that he's going to do the same with Twitter

Musk is going to work with employees, investors, stockholders, and board members to achieve his goal of making Twitter the go-to public square for freedom, discussion, and expressions of opinion.

Conservatives have fallen in love with the idea of a corporation finally getting changed, and not being used as a corporate arm of government.

A government they, in reality, would love to see shrink in size.

Many criticisms have rained down on conservatives; specificaaly, those in the right camp who've cheered the demise of leftist corporations like Disney, CNN, and Twitter.

However, when these companies are being used directly to benefit the political ideology of those currently in power, how small-governmentally minded is it to stand back and allow it to happen?

Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., is doing something about the problem by taking government protections off corporations like Disney. Freethinkers like Musk are working to instill faith back into the idea of free speech in the public square.

It's not that the left has always been anti-corporatist, even if they advocate taxing the wealthy and holding billionaires accountable; they solely want to influence these companies to control the general populous, concurrently silencing onservative viewpoints.

It seems conservatives are finally learning how to fight fire with fire — the right way.
