Occasionally history turns on a single event. The Charlottesville violence and its aftermath may be one of these signal events. The events began with a legal far-right extremist protest march.
Reflecting on the events, let us begin with marching in the streets. The Tea Party supporters marched in the street, becoming a focus of hateful derision by the left who unjustly accused the Tea Party marchers of violence and racism. The left hated the Tea Party for taking to the streets to express dissatisfaction with government policies. The Obama administration IRS refused to give the local Tea Party groups legal status to organize effectively. In other words, the Obama administration suppressed freedom of expression of its critics. There was barely a peep from the Democrats about what they had done.
Meanwhile, out in the streets were leftist extremist groups. Videos showed leftist thugs with clubs intimidating voters in front of election polling locations. The Obama administration stopped the legal proceedings prosecuting these thugs. There was barely a peep from the Democrats about what they had done.
The extremists then showed up at Ferguson, Missouri, making outrageous claims, ruining the career of one policeman, burning part of the town and businesses. The Democrats gave overt and tacit support to the mob. Later, after the mob had done all the damage, the investigation showed the policeman was in the right, and there was no impropriety. There was barely a peep from the Democrats about what they had done.
America witnessed similar extreme left activity in Baltimore and Berkeley for example. There was barely a peep from the Democrats about what they had done.
The Democrats have used these militant dangerous left wing extremist groups as storm troopers to intimidate peaceful citizens and their government. The leftist mobs, with clubs and weapons, serve as a threat to Democratic opposition.
Did anyone observing this violence going on, not expect that there would be opposing groups marching in the streets, not like the peaceful Tea Party, but another brand of tough, thug-like determined opposition? Of course, the left wing thugs would be met in the street: force against force.
And so we arrive at Charlottesville. Tough right wing groups with legal permits to march and demonstrate. These groups were met by groups with weapons and no permits to mobilize, ready to do battle. One of the right wing demonstrators drove a vehicle into a crowd, killing one person. The investigation is still going on. It is not clear this heinous act was preplanned or was planned by the right wing organizations. It may have been the act of one person, who decided to increase the violence. It could be similar to the man who decided to shoot Republican legislators playing a baseball game. We will learn this in time.
But off we go with media and Trump haters’ full bore, blaming Trump, even though Trump condemned the violence and the hate groups at Charlottesville. Trump’s response to the Charlottesville violence was unsatisfactory, according to the media. The liberal media said that Trump should have mentioned the hate groups by name (Trump has disavowed the groups by name for years), and the liberal media said Trump should not have added to his explanation that there was violence and bad behavior on many sides.
Heaven forbid that Donald Trump tell the truth. Many have become so accustomed to the lies under Obama, it may be difficult to hear the truth.
The media distorted Trump’s words, magnified and extrapolated far-beyond what he said. The liberals have been waiting for any opportunity to pounce. What Trump has been accused of is largely bogus. Of course no one endorses violence in the streets, and if someone dies, then it is not equivalent to getting hit over the head. But where was the media when Kate Steinle was murdered by an illegal immigrant? The death was portrayed in some quarters as collateral damage to the greater good of coddling illegal immigrants. There was barely a peep from the Democrats.
The way this Charlottesville violence is spinning, the dishonest and corrupt Democrats will have eliminated any opposing forces in the streets. The streets will be dominated by leftist mobs. The implications of Charlottesville is that if one does not agree with Black Lives Matter, then one had better get off the streets. The left should be careful that they have not over-played their hand. For example, if the kangaroo investigation of Trump-Russian involvement reaches some awful conclusions, the masses of conservative, relatively passive Americans, might be in the streets to undo much more than left wingers bargained for.
America has big problems looming. Charlottesville was exploited by the corrupt media and corrupt left. The self-serving petty issues need to stop. America has big massive problems, much bigger than an old statue.
