The Israeli military said Sunday it believes Hamas fired a rocket from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, according to a report in Haaretz. There were no injuries.
The projectile landed in an open area in Eshkol Regional Council and was the first rocket fired from a Hamas-run coastal enclave in two months. It happened as Israelis were celebrating the Sukkot holiday and as Palestine is making an effort to end the 10-year rift between Fatah, a major Palestinian political party, and Hamas.
Hamas did not claim responsibility for the rocket fire, but Israel still holds the terrorist group accountable for all rockets coming from the Strip.
