WASHINGTON -- Sen. Claire McCaskill says a Senate move to embrace the tough anti-abortion language in a House version of health care legislation must be defeated.
McCaskill language in the bill now on the Senate floor retains long-standing policy prohibiting federal funds for abortion _ and that's sufficient. Appearing on the same show, Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee accused Democrats of "using Medicare as a piggy bank to pay for a big new program."
