Tax Day Spurs Prez Hopefuls to Woo Tea Party

Republican presidential hopefuls know they need support from the tea party to succeed. So what better day to ingratiate themselves with the movement than April 15 – tax day? Several potential presidential candidates will address tea party rallies throughout the country Friday, The Hill reports.

tax, day, tea, partyTea parties are holding the events to protest the tax hikes proposed by President Barack Obama. That includes a rally in Concord, N.H. sponsored by Americans for Prosperity, which will be attended by former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Sen. Rick Santorum, Pa., former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer and businessman Herman Cain.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is speaking at a tea party tax day rally in Wisconsin Saturday.
