Sen. Brown: I Was Ignored by Senate Committee

Republican Sen. Scott Brown says he won his 2009 special election to the Senate despite not getting much help from the National Republican Senatorial Committee early on. According to The Hill, Brown writes in his new book "Against All Odds" that when he went to Washington, D.C., to seek help from the GOP, he was given a very brief meeting with only one committee official.

The quick meeting ended with the staffer saying, "We wish you the best of luck and we'll be in touch," according to Brown, who added: "He might have saved himself two minutes if he had just said 'Don't let the door hit you on the way out.' "

He also recounts a reception in which "Most people didn't even know there was a race in Massachusetts. It was almost embarrassing; and we couldn't get anyone to commit."
