Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul has canceled a planned appearance on Sunday's "Meet the Press."
Paul, who won the GOP nomination in Kentucky's primary election on Tuesday, has come under fire for questioning the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
"Rand did 'Good Morning America' [on Friday], set the record straight, and now we are done talking about it," Jesse Benton, a spokesman for Paul's campaign, told The Washington Post. "No more national interviews on the topic."
According to NBC, only two other people have canceled appearances on "Meet the Press."
