Nader: Obama Will Face Primary Challenge

Consumer advocate Ralph Nader, who helped defeat Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore in 2000, would like to do the same to President Barack Obama. Nader predicts the president will face a primary challenge in 2012, thanks to the tax compromise with Republicans, The Hill reports.

Nader, 76, doesn’t rule out running again himself but says he’d like to see someone else take up the cause. "I'm not foreclosing the possibility,” he tells The Hill. “There are just other things to do. And it's time for someone else to continue. I've done it so many times. When I go around the country, I'm telling people they need to find somebody."

Nader calls Obama a "con man," and says he will face a primary opponent. “Just a question of how prominent a person. This [tax] deal is the last straw."
