Poll: Christie More Popular than Obama in NJ

By    |   Tuesday, 09 November 2010 12:46 PM EST

This doesn’t exactly qualify as man bites dog, but Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is more popular in his heavily Democratic state than President Barack Obama, according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University. The survey shows that Christie has a 51 poll, chris, christie, barack, obama, new, jerseypercent job approval rating, compared to just 38 percent who disapprove, The Hill reports.

Meanwhile, in a state where Obama won by double digits in 2008, his approval rating is only 46 percent, compared to 50 percent of voters who disapprove of his performance.

Christie’s high approval rating is quite impressive, given his battles with organized labor in the Garden State. But clearly voters elected him for a reason and are sticking with him.
