Opponents of the new healthcare law have been handed a potent new weapon in their campaign to repeal it. That’s the 1,040 waivers to a portion of the law issued by the Obama administration as of Thursday,
The Hill reports.
The White House is using the waivers to assist its allies in the labor movement, Republicans charge. The waivers release those who get them from the law’s yearly coverage limits.

“The fact that over 1,000 waivers have been granted is a tacit admission that the healthcare law is fundamentally flawed,” said House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman
Fred Upton, R-Mich.
Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich. says the waivers should be offered to anyone. “If the SEIU gets a waiver and McDonald’s gets a waiver, shouldn’t the average person who’s impacted by this get a waiver, too?”
