Obama Speech Puts Biden to Sleep

Vice President Biden appeared to nod off Wednesday during President Barack Obama's pivotal speech on the deficit.

As Obama weighed in on one of the most important issues of the day, ABC News first pointed out, the vice president lowed his head and closed his eyes in a pose familiar to many who have attended long afternoon meetings after a big lunch.

Apparently the idea of his boss outlining a major plan to deal with deficit reduction and attack the national debt -- possibly the biggest issue of the year outside of foreign wars -- did not fully engage Biden. The woman in glasses directly behind Biden appears to close her eyes too.
