President Barack Obama has started seeking money from

deep-pocketed donors to fund his 2012 re-election campaign,
Politico reports. The president's cash advance team has been conducting a "listening tour" throughout the country
According to Politico, the team is headed by Jim Messina, Obama's former White House deputy chief of staff Jim Messina, and professional fundraiser Rufus Gifford.
Wealthy donors are being offered, among other options, the opportunity to be part of a National Finance Council by giving as much as $61,600 per couple per year to the Democratic National Committee.
