Most Americans almost surely approve of President Barack Obama’s willingness to move to the center on the issue of extending the Bush-era tax cuts. But most of those who don’t approve are hardcore liberals, many of whom helped fund the president’s 2008 campaign. So his triangulation could cost Obama money in the 2012 campaign,
The Hill reports .

“Democrats in Washington think President Obama is hurting his mighty fundraising prowess by repeatedly ticking off the people who helped Obama shatter fundraising records in 2007 and 2008,” the news service states.
“When enthusiasm is deflated across the board, it has a direct effect on people’s willingness to donate to candidates and campaigns,” says Peter Daou, a former aide to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
