Dick Morris, Hannity Praise McCollum

Tuesday, 24 August 2010 12:29 PM EDT

Appearing on Sean Hannity's top-rated Fox News show Monday night, Dick Morris strongly encouraged Florida Republicans to cast their votes for Bill McCollum as the next governor.

Morris told Hannity: “We’ve seen all these negative ads that say 'my opponent’s a crook, my opponent stole money and stuff.' And this time, it’s true. Rick Scott did and it is very important that Bill McCollum win that primary.”

Story continues below.

Morris was referring to McCollum's primary opponent and the company he founded, Columbia/HCA, which pleaded guilty to the largest Medicare fraud in history.

Scott himself was never the target of the FBI's probe of the case and was never charged with any crime.

Hannity added that the GOP front-runners in Florida are shaping up to be a “great ticket,” noting that McCollum, Pam Bondi for attorney general, and Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate were all leading in the polls. Hannity described Rubio as a “rock star” and “the future of the Republican Party.”
