If you can’t beat ‘em join ‘em. Liberal Democrats obviously noted the success tea party activists had in turning public sentiment against Obamacare at town hall meetings in the summer of 2009. Now they’re trying to do the same in working against the $61 billion in budget cuts recently approved by the Republican-controlled House,
The Hill reports.

Democratic operatives are enlisting unions and liberal groups in their effort, trying to mobilize support during Congress’ Presidents Day recess.
“Whenever we hear about a town hall meeting we encourage them to go and ask pointed questions about what is happening,” Justin Ruben, executive director of the liberal group MoveOn.org, tells The Hill.
One labor organizer says, “We are targeting various House Republicans in town hall meetings during the recess to let them know these budget cuts are beyond the pale.”
