Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming on Thursday increased the pressure on his fellow lawmakers to repeal and replace Obamacare as soon as possible. Addressing the Senate during his regular "Second Opinion" segment, Barrasso, who's also a physician, endorsed Sen. Roger Wicker's Restoring the 10th Amendment Act.
Wicker, R-Miss., has proposed legislation that would allow state officials to challenge Obamacare regulations before they go into effect.
“This will allow states to fight back against outrageous healthcare regulations that continue to be written," Barrasso said.
Wicker said: “This bill is a step toward restoring states’ rights by allowing state officials to challenge the rules and regulations that violate the Constitution. Repealing Obamacare remains one of my top priorities and until we can achieve that goal, I am fighting to stop harmful regulations from going into effect under the new law. This bill would give state officials another tool to challenge the unconstitutional overreach of the federal government.”
