The Republican establishment deserves punishment for spitting in the face of the tea party during this year’s primaries, says former Arkansas GOP Gov. Mike Huckabee. And that’s exactly what it’s getting, he points out.
“I think the Republican establishment in D.C. is getting spanked and deserves it,” the 2008 and perhaps 2012 presidential candidate told reporters over the weekend, according to
Politico.
“Frankly, I'm thrilled that they're getting a little kicking in the backside over the races, like in Delaware, because there has been this elitist and pompous, contemptuous attitude toward a lot of the grass roots,” he said.
The tea party movement is “the greatest thing in politics this year, maybe in the last 10 years,” Huckabee said “It has reminded people that their vote and their voice make a difference, and it matters.”
