President Barack Obama lied to the country when he said the United States is not at war with Libya, Sean Hannity said on his radio show today.
“The president’s firing on a country…he told us we’re not at war…,” Hannity said. “That sounds to me like war, and the president’s not telling the country the truth.”
He called for an official investigation.
“He’s thumbing his nose at Congress,” he said.
The White House has asserted Obama had the authority to continue the military campaign against Libya without Congressional approval, and that the War Powers Resolution does not apply because America played a limited role in NATO-led operation.
“Is that an effort to evade the WP Act?” Hannity asked.
Obama “puts himself above the law,” he said. “He acts the same way when it comes to health care.”
Hannity said dictator Moammar Gadhafi “got what he deserved,” but the hope of democracy in Libya is far from certain.
“What does it mean now that Gadhafi is going to be gone?” he asked. “Who is going to be in charge? What’s going to happen? Has anybody ever thought through what the consequences are?
