Dobbs to Appear on O'Reilly Monday

Sunday, 15 November 2009 10:14 PM EST

Former CNN anchor Lou Dobbs, who resigned suddenly from the network on Wednesday, will be appearing on The O’Reilly Factor Monday night, according to Variety.

Dobbs will discuss his resignation and the views on illegal immigration that some say led to his ouster at the news network. He’s also likely to address rampant rumors that he is being courted by Fox News. Jonathan Klein, president of CNN’s domestic operations, agreed to release Mr. Dobbs from his “Lou Dobbs Tonight” contract after he refused to tone down his rhetorical style.

Dobb's sit-down with conservative pundit Bill O'Reilly follows rumors that he would possibly sign on with the cable news competitor. However, Fox News denied that was the case in a statement released Wednesday.

"I don't know if people will believe it, but we had a very amicable parting on the best of terms," Dobbs told The Associated Press. "I spent 29 years there building that company, and I wish everyone there nothing but the best, and they have reciprocated with me."

"What they do is their business and I tried to accommodate them as best I could, but I've said for many years now that neutrality is not part of my being," he said. "I have strong views about a lot of issues that are important to the country and I think are important to my audience."
