Christie: No One Leads GOP Field Yet

The Washington punditry has been full of speculation that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will run for the Republican presidential nomination next year. Christie, who has rejected running, sees no frontrunner at this point and says he has no favorite, The Hill reports.

christie, no, gop, frontrunner“Listen, I don't think there is a frontrunner right now," he said on NBC's "Today" show. "There isn't even [a field of candidates]."

Top potential GOP candidates include former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.

As for a possible candidacy of his own, Christie said, "There is no chance. Zero chance. Under any circumstances."
