With the Democrats in seeming disarray, speculation has arisen as to whether House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will survive even if Democrats narrowly maintain control of the House. But Rep. Chris Van Hollen,

D-Md., who is assistant to the speaker, told Fox News he’s not thinking about the job,
The Hill reports.
"I have no intention of wanting to be speaker of the House,” he said. “I am very focused on the 2010 midterm election … [and] what we have in front of us."
Van Hollen appears to be one of the Democrats bright lights and as chairman of the House Democrats' campaign committee has thrust himself in the public spotlight. He predicts his party will maintain control of the House.
