As a favorite of the tea party movement, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is a politician on the rise. She’s considering a run for Republican Conference chairwoman, the No. 3 position in the House Republican leadership,
Politico reports.

The race for that position looks wide open. Bachmann has been encouraged by some conservatives to seek the conference chairmanship and may well do so, says her spokesman Sergio Gor.
“We have been contacted by some members about that," Gor said. If the opportunity were to present itself, she would definitely consider it.”
The position will likely be exited by Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, who’s considering a gubernatorial or presidential run.
