The liberal community organizing group ACORN, which went through a series of scandals, appears to have reached the end of the line. The group announced Tuesday that it is filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, or liquidation, Roll Call reports.
ACORN was charged with voter fraud in 2008, and in 2009, a group of young conservatives caught ACORN activists in videos showing them helping a pimp avoid filing taxes, among other illegal activities. Conservatives found ACORN, the New Black Panther Party and President Barack Obama’s healthcare reform initiatives to be powerful symbols of the dangers of Obama’s liberal policies.
