Damage From Within

Russell Blaylock, M.D. By Monday, 12 November 2018 04:30 PM EST Current | Bio | Archive

Environmental toxins are not the only toxic substances in the body. Many other toxins come from within our own bodies.

Cells are dying all the time. When they do, they release a large number of toxic substances into the tissues and blood.

As people grow older, the amount of toxins can become substantial.

Patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for cancer can produce so many internal toxins from dead and dying cells that they overwhelm the detoxification systems. In many cases, this can be fatal.

Another rarely considered cause of toxin release is extreme exercise, which generates enormous numbers of free radicals and lipid peroxidation products. These can cause serious damage to the brain, liver, heart, and lungs.

These harmful chemicals must be detoxified. Probiotics are also essential for proper detoxification.

Many environmental pollutants can kill probiotic organisms and allow an overgrowth of harmful bacteria and fungi in our colon. Pesticides, herbicides, mercury, and many industrial chemicals have this effect.

Drinking water has been shown in many areas to contain antibiotics, which can also damage probiotics.
