The Many Dangers of Fructose

Russell Blaylock, M.D. By Tuesday, 29 August 2023 04:23 PM EDT Current | Bio | Archive

The most common way researchers induce diabetes in experimental animals is by feeding them fructose, which also raises their blood pressure, causes heart hypertrophy (heart failure), increases heart inflammation, reduces heart antioxidant enzyme levels, increases oxidative stress in the heart, and induces fatty liver disease.

Fatty liver disease is rapidly increasing among all human age groups, and the most likely cause is the high intake of high fructose corn syrup in the typical American diet. It is obvious that fructose — especially in the form of high fructose corn syrup — is the main culprit in a number of diseases, including diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cancer, degenerative brain disorders, gross obesity, and fatty liver disease, as well as rapid aging.

Fructose is in virtually every processed food you find in your local supermarket. Soft drinks containing high fructose corn syrup are perhaps the primary cause of these diseases.

I am convinced that we could drastically lower the death rate just by getting rid of fructose additives in foods. Studies have shown that a combination of MSG and high fructose corn syrup can easily induce fatty liver disease in experimental animals of various species.
