Question: Are there any alternative treatments you can recommend for elevated PSA (prostate specific antigens)?Dr. Blaylock’s Answer:
A number of studies have shown that radiation treatments for prostate cancer have very little effectiveness, along with a number of complications.
Recent studies, including human and animal studies, indicate two important things. First, following the PSA is unreliable. Any irritation of the prostate or retained prostate tissue — even an infection — can elevate the PSA.
Interestingly, nutraceutical flavonoids have been shown to have similar cancer inhibiting effects on prostate cancer as seen with breast cancer. Curcumin, quercetin, ellagic acid, hesperidin, resveratrol, and DHA have all been shown to suppress prostate cancer growth, invasion, and metastasis. Modified citrus pectin has been shown in a number of studies to powerfully suppress the spread of prostate cancer.
I would recommend you read the previous newsletters on cancer (including one on prostate cancer) and my book “Natural Strategies for Cancer Patients.”
