Benefits of Rooibos Tea

Monday, 18 October 2010 08:53 AM EDT

Question: What are the benefits of drinking rooibos tea?

Dr. Blaylock’s Answer:

Rooibos tea, a South African tea which has a slightly sweet taste, has a number of health benefits and is quite popular in many parts of the world. It contains a number of flavonoids that reduce inflammation, have anticancer effects, and are powerful antioxidants.

The only downside is that rooibos contains as much fluoride (approximately 1 ppm) as fluorinated water. But if you do not drink large amounts, the fluoride is less of a problem. Overall, it is a healthy tea.
