Producer: Stars Queuing for Cowell Spot On 'Idol'

The search for a new "American Idol" judge to replace Simon Cowell is quickly taking on epic proportions.

Entertainment mogul Simon Fuller says he's getting daily calls from agents of superstars worldwide who want the gig when Cowell leaves after this season.

Fuller created the template for Fox's "American Idol" with the British show "Pop Idol," and his company is a producer of the U.S. version.

"American Idol" began its ninth season Tuesday, the day after Simon Cowell announced he's leaving to produce a U.S. edition of his hit U.K. talent show, "The X Factor," for Fox.
