For fourteen months, Americans have witnessed what appears to be an all-out assault on President Donald J. Trump, by his personal, professional, and political critics, including many in his own party.
Under the ruse of investigating Russian collusion, his critics have used the United States Justice Department as a political tool to target his friends, supporters, family, and now his attorney, Michael Cohen, to accomplish their end game — the destruction and annihilation of a sitting U.S. president.
As for "Russian collusion," no matter what party you are in, if you’re honest with yourself, there are only two logical conclusions that can come out of fourteen months of one of the most intense investigations in U.S. history.
First, there is no Russian collusion, or —
Second, this has resulted in the most catastrophic investigative failure in world history — keeping in mind that three different Congressional committees, in addition to Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his all-star crack team of investigators, augmented by the FBI and Justice Department, have found absolutely nothing to do with the president’s campaign, or the president colluding with Russia to influence the elections. You can decide for yourself.
However, yesterday’s search warrants targeting the president’s personal attorney Michael Cohen, should scare the hell out of every American in our country.
Were they truly looking for evidence as it relates to Cohen’s alleged one-time payment to Stephanie Clifford, to prevent her from speaking publicly about something that could have embarrassed the president and/or his family? Or were they looking for something else?
Wasn't there a false promise made by Ms. Clifford to remain silent for a sum of money, and/or worse, did she accept that money in return for her silence? If so, both, may be state and federal crimes.
For example, under New York State law, “A person obtains property by extortion when he compels or induces another person to deliver such property to himself or to a third person by means of instilling in him a fear that, if the property is not so delivered, the actor or another will… Expose a secret or publicize an asserted fact, whether true or false, tending to subject some person to hatred, contempt or ridicule…”
Be it larceny by false promise, or extortion, or both, is that what federal prosecutors may have been looking for? I would hope so, but I doubt it.
I’m afraid that the targeting of Cohen may have been a strategic move to circumvent the attorney-client privilege, and conflict him from representing the president… and turning him into a witness against the president.
And, blinded by their hate for the "man," the president’s critics are either ignoring, or are oblivious to the injustices and political prosecutorial abuses that are being used against the man sitting in the highest office in the land.
If they can do this to the president of the United States, then they can do this to every American in this country, both his critics and supporters alike.
Obviously, for purely partisan reasons, the ACLU, the Democratic Party, and most of the legal advocates all over this country, are deadly silent, which demonstrates the politics behind this investigation.
Like an out of control locomotive, it appears by all reports that these prosecutors are extremely dangerous and acting with impunity, and unfortunately, with their actions against Michael Cohen, they just drove that locomotive smack into the scales of justice — and shattered the Constitution and what it stands for.
