Rebecca Romijn has broken her silence and called out ex-husband John Stamos for remarks he made about their marriage in his memoir "If You Would Have Told Me."
"I was very surprised by all of that, incredibly shocked actually," the "X-Men" actor, 51, told Entertainment Tonight.
"I was sort of blindsided by it. But you know, I don't really want to help him sell his books based on those headlines. So that's all I really want to say about it."
Romijn was married to the "Full House" alum, 60, from 1998 to 2005. Stamos alleged infidelity on Romijn's part in his book, published in October 2023.
He also spoke candidly about their split in an interview with People, saying he was "shattered" when their marriage ended.
"My first marriage was shattering to me. I was shattered for way too long, too," he told the outlet. "I mean, a year, OK, good. But it went on [for] years and years."
Stamos said the experience allowed him to reflect on his feelings at the time.
"In my mind back then, she was the devil, and I just hated her," he admitted. "I couldn't believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life."
Stamos went on to acknowledge his healing process "was not healthy."
"That's when I really started to kind of drink a lot," he recalled. "But, without that, I never would've known what a real love is, and I would've never straightened up to get someone like Caitlin in my life."
Stamos married Caitlin McHugh Stamos in 2018 and they have a 5-year-old son named Billy. Romijn has two children with her husband, Jerry O'Connell, whom she wed in 2007.
"If I didn't go through all the things, all the heartache, I wouldn't be who I am today," Stamos said. "That's what I hope people take away from it."
