The lies behind the Affordable Care Act are so brazen, only those who believe in the "tooth fairy" believe them, says Dr. Betsy McCaughey, chairman of the Committee to Reduce Infectious Deaths and former New York lieutenant governor.
"We’ve seen the White House lie machine in full speed ahead now ever since the law was passed and even more then," McCaughey said Friday on
Newsmax TV's "The Steve Malzberg" Show, with guest host Dennis Michael Lynch.

"The entire selling of Obamacare has been based on lies. You can keep your health plan if you like your health plan. You can keep your doctor if you like your doctor.
"You’re going to save $2,500 a year, preventive care is free. Only somebody who believes in the tooth fairy could believe this right?
McCaughey believes the mainstream media has been asleep at the switch in looking into the inconsistencies and falsehoods surrounding President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law.
"They didn’t do their jobs at the time. The lies that were used to sell Obamacare some of which I just reiterated were obvious," she said.
"They were obvious lies at the time, but the media did not point them out."
She said even after comments made by Jonathan Gruber, the so-called architect of Obamacare — who said healthcare law passed because of a "lack of transparency" and the "stupidity of the American voter" the media are still clueless.
"The media seem just as dumb as Gruber’s accusing the American people of being," McCaughey said.
McCaughey said that when the Affordable Care Act's employer mandate — which requires larger companies to provide healthcare for full-time workers or pay penalties — kicks in, things will get worse.
"It’s going to clobber people who have always relied on on-the-job coverage," she said.
"It’s going to be a bad deal for those people who now will be forced to go to the exchanges and pay for their health insurance with after tax dollars, see their deductible triple and, for all of that, lose the doctors and hospitals they’ve been relying on."
