It's highly doubtful Americans will actually flee to Canada if Donald Trump is elected president — but they are sure into researching the idea!
Google — the world's largest search engine — says the number of people looking up "How can I move to Canada?" skyrocketed 350 percent after Trump won seven states in the Super Tuesday primaries.
Anybody who searches under that question is referred to a number of official websites including Canada's immigration page.
There are also detailed, step-by-step guides explaining the process as well as agencies that can help navigate the red tape.
The threat of moving to Canada over a political issue is nothing new.
Many Democrats promised to relocate to Canada if Mitt Romney won the White House in 2012. (They didn't). And in 2008, actor Stephen Baldwin said he would head north if Barack Obama was elected. (He didn't).
Canadians, for the most part, are amused by the vows.
As
Newsmax reported, Canada's Cape Breton Island began a tongue-in-cheek campaign earlier this year to lure Americans worried about a Trump presidency.
"Don't wait until Donald Trump is elected president to find somewhere else to live! Start now, that way, on election day, you just hop on a bus to start your new life in Cape Breton," the island's press release read.
