BOSTON — An outspoken advocate for an Army private accused of funneling classified documents to Wikileaks is suing the federal government for allegedly seizing confidential information from him.
David House is a founding member of The Bradley Manning Support Network, set up to support Manning's legal defense.
House says federal agents illegally confiscated his laptop and other electronic devices at a Chicago airport in November.
In a suit to be filed Friday by the American Civil Liberties Union, House says they kept the items for seven weeks, copying personal information and files related to the support network.
House is claiming violations of his free speech rights and his Constitutional protections against unreasonable search and seizure.
