The Secret Service says two people have been charged by police after allegedly throwing items over the White House fence in an incident that led to the first family's residence being placed under lockdown for the second time in three days.
The agency says one man is accused of throwing what's believed to be a cassette tape over the fence on the north side. While police were questioning the man, he complained of a medical condition and was brought to a hospital, but will be transferred to a local police station.
Another man allegedly threw papers over the fence on the south side.
Both were charged with throwing objects or other missiles.
Thursday's scare comes two days after another White House lockdown that was triggered when a vehicle followed the motorcade bringing President Barack Obama's daughters home through the gates. Police charged the vehicle's driver with unlawful entry, a misdemeanor.
