A bank mistakenly foreclosed on a home in Twentynine Palms, Calif., and forced a couple to lose all their cherished possessions.
The couple Alvin and Pat Tjosaas, did not have a mortgage on the home and Alvin built the home with his father and mother when he was a teenager, according to
CBS 2 Los Angeles. A crew broke into the home and took everything they had. They raised six children in the home.
Alvin told CBS 2 that the deputy sheriff said, “Good news, we know who took (your possessions)…Wells Fargo. Bad news, your stuff is all gone.”
“We are deeply sorry for the very personal losses the Tjosaas family suffered as a result of their home being mistakenly secured,” said Alfredo Padilla of Wells Fargo. “We are moving quickly to reach out to the family to resolve this unfortunate situation in an attempt to right this wrong.”
“When you put your heart into something…it makes me real sad. I’m just glad I have my sweetheart. We’ve been together a long time,” Alvin told CBS 2.
