Republican Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin said that the recent budget deal reached by Congress showed Wisconsin Republican Rep. Paul Ryan was "acting more like a governor than just a member of Congress."
"Paul is one of those rare people in Washington," the Wisconsin governor said while appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Walker continued to praise Ryan for "the incredible leadership and respect that [he] brings to the table."
"He's one of those guys who kind of steps out of the roll of a member of Congress, and really stepped up to provide some leadership," Walker continued.
He added that if Republicans want more than what was offered in the current budget deal that they will have to make significant gains in the 2014 midterm elections.
"I think for those of us who believe the federal government is too big, too intrusive, too involved in our lives, what it tells us is that if what we really want is a budget deal we're can wrap our arms around, we're going to have to win in the 2014 elections, particularly in key Senate races," he said. "And things are much different a year from now, if Republicans are in charge of the Senate."
It wasn't the first time Walker praised Ryan's leadership skills. The Wisconsin governor said in November that while he tends to favor governors as presidents, he made an exception for the former vice presidential candidate, whom he said has "an executive sense."
