Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., wins reelection to the U.S. House in Florida's 10th Congressional District.

Demings was once considered a candidate to be Joe Biden's vice presidential running mate, before he selected Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif.

A notable critic of President Donald Trump, Demings' victory is not surprising, considering she won a Democrat-heavy district.
