2 Still Missing after Calif. Pipeline Explosion

Saturday, 11 September 2010 05:40 PM EDT

SAN BRUNO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two people remain unaccounted for after a large gas line explosion and inferno that killed four in a Northern California neighborhood.

Authorities had said earlier that they had no reports of anyone still unaccounted for.

Dozens of people were injured in the explosion in San Bruno on Thursday evening.

The blast in the hills overlooking San Francisco Bay left a giant crater and laid waste to dozens of 1960s-era homes.

Federal officials are still trying to determine what caused the gas line to explode.
