A rally in a New Orleans suburb is set to cap a weekend of campaigning in Louisiana for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders as he seeks the Democratic presidential nomination.
Sunday evening's rally in Kenner comes after Saturday appearances in Baton Rouge, where he addressed a meeting of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, followed by another speech at a Democratic fundraising event.
While in New Orleans on Sunday, Sanders also discussed gun control Sunday morning on NBC's Meet the Press — days after a gunman killed two people and himself at a Louisiana, movie theater.
Sanders said Americans must find common ground on gun laws, such as improved background checks to prevent gun sales to people with criminal records or a history of mental instability or domestic abuse.
