A former Kaufman County justice of the peace and his wife were charged with capital murder in the slayings of a district attorney, his wife and another prosecutor, Texas authorities said on Thursday.
Eric and Kim Williams were charged with the killings.
Kaufman District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia were shot dead in their Forney, Texas, home over Easter weekend.
Prosecutor Mark Hasse was gunned down in broad daylight outside the Kaufman County courthouse on Jan. 31.
Both Hasse and McLelland were involved in prosecuting a theft case against Eric Williams last year that led to Williams' conviction. Williams lost his law license as a consequence of the case.
Eric Williams was first arrested on April 13 on a charge of making a "terroristic" threat, which generally involves a threat to commit violence. His wife was arrested on Wednesday.
