President Donald Trump is slamming the news media for not publicizing the "amazing" drugs available to treat COVID-19.

His comments came in a Thursday tweet.

The president wrote: "THE COVID DRUGS NOW AVAILABLE TO MAKE (PEOPLE) BETTER ARE AMAZING, BUT SELDOM TALKED ABOUT BY THE MEDIA! Mortality rate is 85% down."

The president did not specifically cite which drugs he was referring to.

In another tweet, he wrote: "VACCINES ARE COMING FAST!!!"

Pfizer has said that interim results from an ongoing study suggest its vaccine is 95% effective. The company is preparing to formally ask U.S. regulators to allow emergency use of the vaccine.

Moderna, Inc. has announced that its experimental vaccine appears to be 94.5% effective.
