Most New York City Police Officers hate their jobs — and they believe the metropolis has become less safe.

A new survey of 6,000 of the city's 24,000 cops found 89 percent said they would quit the force if they could get a better-paying position in law enforcement, The New York Post reports.

Another 86 percent said they would not recommend the job to members of their family — family members — a stunning reversal from the days when families bragged of devoting years of service in the police department.

The poll also found that the job morale rating was just 2.49 on a scale of 1 to 10.

And about 87 percent said New York City is "less safe" since the de Blasio administration assumed office two years ago. Fifty-five percent described the city as "a lot less safe."
