Sales of Sean Spicer's upcoming memoir on his time in the Trump administration appear to be soft, according to its ranking on online bookseller Amazon.
The hardcover edition the former Trump press secretary's book, "The Briefing: Politics, The Press, and The President,'' being published Tuesday by Regnery, ranked at No. 275 on Amazon's bestseller list on Monday morning.
That ranking is in stark contrast to two other new Trump-centered political books: Jeanine Pirro's "Liars, Leakers, and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy," which is No. 1 on Amazon, and Gregg Jarrett's "The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump," which is No. 8.
The Wrap reports the soft opening comes "despite a lengthy promotion tour, which included a fancy D.C. book launch party where all-access tickets cost $1,000."
The Wrap quoted CNN media reporter Brian Stelter as saying he believes Spicer, "despite all his TV hits hyping the book, is not Trumpy enough. He only served as press secretary for six months. Pirro and Jarrett, on the other hand, are absolute Trump diehards. And they're plugged in right to the base via Fox's prime time shows."
